Lady Eagles win first conference game

The Lady Eagles improved their record to 6-1-1 with a 9-0 win over Branson. Rachel Murphy opened the scoring with a nice left-footed shot that beat the keeper to the near post at about the 10 minute mark. Jo Pavlowsky made it 2-0 a few minutes later with a beautiful shot from 20 yards out that found the left upper 90 of the goal. Kelsey Haist scored the third goal a few minutes later, off of a cross from Courtney Frerichs, and also the 4th goal late in the half. Pavlowsky scored her second goal of the game just before half off of a pass from Kelsey Bartell to make the half time score 5-0. Halie Owen opened the scoring about 10 minutes into the second half taking a pass from Vicki Rische and putting the ball over the goalkeepers head just under the bar on the left side of the goal. It is good to have Halie back playing. A couple of weeks ago it looked like she would miss the whole season but she is getting healthier everyday. Rische then found Katie Bolton a few minutes later for the 7th goal. Chelsea Cole got her first goal this year with Tatum Mangum assisting. Katie Bolton finished the scoring with Ashlyn Robillard getting the assist. Kristin Miller got her 4th shutout of the season. The Lady Pirates played a spirited game. With effort like that they will improve tremendously throughout the season.

The JV Lady Eagles improved to 5-0 with a 4-0 win over Branson. Katie Bolton had two first half unassisted goals with Erin Townsend getting the third goal off of an assist from Brooke Rowden. The Lady Pirate defense stiffened in the second half and the Lady Eagles could only manage one more goal which Brooke Finley was able to put away. Liz Sutter and Alli Schleismann shared the shutout.

The teams travel to Kickapoo to take on the Lady Chiefs on Monday which will be a big test for both teams. On Tuesday they travel to Willard and Thursday the Bolivar Lady Liberators come to town.
