The Lady Eagles lost both games against Glendale. The varsity lost 2-1 and the JV lost 3-0. The varsity Eagles came out strong against the Lady Falcons and with just 5 minutes gone in the match found themselves up 1-0. A foul was called about 25 yards out and Rachel Murphy stepped up and hit a nice shot through the wall which beat the keeper to the near post. The Falcons would come back and control the play for the next few minutes and get the equalizer midway through the first half from a tough angle down the Falcon right side when Molly Brewer’s shot sailed into the top left corner of the goal. Glendale will get the game winner with about 5 minutes to go in the half from Brewer again getting lose on the right side and hitting another no angle shot into the far side of the net. The Eagles hung tough in the second half, they bent but didn’t break from the Lady Falcon’s pressure. The Eagles threatened early when Kelsey Bartell sent a nice cross to Kelsey Haist and her left footed shot just went wide. The Lady Eagles couldn’t find much offense until the final 10 minutes. The ladies pushed forward but couldn’t find the equalizer. Jacinda Lemons did a nice job in goal for the Lady Falcons.

The Lady Eagle defense played well tonight and through this season so far. Abby Turnbull, Maddie Chandler, Hannah Barber, Anne Pierce, and Liz Sutter worked extremely hard to keep us in the game tonight. The defense has been our unsung heroes this year keeping us in many games. Kristin Miller had another nice game in goal as well. It was a great effort tonight but the ladies realize that there is still room for improvement.

The JV lost 3-0. Early in the game it looked like it would be another win with the Lady Eagles pressuring the Falcons. There were a couple of near misses that if they go in it might have been a different outcome. The Lady Falcons weathered the early Eagles’ storm and scored the game winner just seconds before halftime. The Falcons would get two more in the second half. The JV Ladies did a nice job adjusting to not having Hailey Morgan anchoring the defense this week when she sits out with a concussion. The defense is also without Taylor Stevens who hurt her knee in practice last week. We hope she will be back soon. Brooke Finley did a nice job stepping into Hailey’s spot. Sara Docker, Chelsea Middleton and Hannah Fields have done a great job all year in the defensive end for the Lady Eagles.
