The varsity Lady Eagles ran their record to 12-5-1 on the season with a 8-0 victory over Hillcrest. With the field conditions very wet and also with long grass the ladies moved the ball well and look ready for tomorrow’s big showdown with Ozark. Kelsey Haist opened the scoring in the first minute off of a nice cross from Courtney Frerichs. It would take another 15 minutes to get the next goal with Kelsey Bartell converting the penalty kick after being taken down in the box. The Eagles would get three more before the half with Vicki Rische netting two and Frerichs scoring as well. Frerichs and Haist tallied the assists. The second half scoring was Jo Pavlowskky from Haist, Katie Bolton from Bartell, and Rische got her third of the match from Brooke Rowden. The defense was strong again getting another shutout for Kristin Miller. Abby Turnbull, Maddie Chandler, Hannah Barber, Annie Pierce, Liz Sutter, Shelby Zielke, Allie Schleisman, and Hailey Morgan have been outstanding in the back this year.
The JV ladies improved to 10-2 on the year with a 4-0 victory over the Lady Hornets. Jordan Murray would get the game winner midway through the first half off of a nice cross from Alli Schleisman. Katie Bolton would score late in the half from Becca Kerr’s pass. Bolton and Kerr would team up again early in the second half and with just seconds remaining in the game Brooke Rowden hit a beautiful low drive that beat the keeper from 25 yards out to end the scoring. The JV’s stellar defense continued with no shots allowed in the game. Hailey Morgan, Brooke Finley, Hannah Fields, Chelsea Middleton, and Taylor Stevens have been great in the back along with the play of goalies Kendall Barclay, Liz Sutter, and Alli Schleisman. The JV will also be playing for the COC championship tomorrow against Ozark.
Be sure to come early for the food and wear white to support the ladies against Ozark.
