The Eagles JV team beat Neosho 7-0 tonight to improve their record to 3-2 on the year. The team came out strong and have improved tremendously over the last couple of weeks. Jesse Bihlmeyer got the first goal of the match and his first of the season when he converted a penalty kick that he received for being taken down in the box. Austin Engleman scored the second goal off of an assist from Sayer Tindall. The Eagles had other opportunities but couldn’t convert any so the halftime score was 2-0. Nixa increased their lead in the 43rd minute when Calvin Wright finished his penalty kick. Bihlmeyer got his second goal of the night from Quinton Monnig’s pass. Sayer Tindall scored the 5th goal off of scramble in the box which Andrew Schenck assisted. Bihlmeyer finished the hat trick in the 63rd minute and Quinton Monnig ended the scoring in the 67th minute. It is nice to have Jesse back from injury. Thomas Canales earned the shutout in goal, his first of the season. Unfortunately the JV won’t have a game on Monday against Marshfield.
The Varsity won 6-2 to over the Wildcats to improve its record to 6-2 on the year. Neosho got the first goal off of a mistake in the back of the Nixa defense just 5 minutes into the match. The Eagles would settle down and the offense would heat up. Luke Moore got Nixa on the board in the 19th minute with a nice header from Kaleb Romero. In the 24th minute Corey Cann found KhaiUyen Huynh for the go ahead goal and a minute later KhaiUyen’s header found the back of the net off of Drake Trease’s corner kick. Neosho wouldn’t go quietly and Jared Hill scored their second goal in the 32nd minute. The Eagles played well in the second half getting their 4th goal in the 50th minute from another Trease corner kick this time finding the head of Luke Moore for Luke’s second goal of the game. Tanner Pesek would score the 5th goal off of Kaleb Romero’s cross in the 56th minute. Corey Cann would score in the 72nd minute off of a beautifully placed direct kick just outside the box on the left side of the goal.
Monday’s game against Marshfield is a varsity only contest which will begin at 6pm.
