The Eagles got back to their winning ways with a 2-0 win at Willard.  Willard had the wind in the first half and created some chances but the Eagles were able to turn back the Tigers.  The Eagles controlled much of the play even against the wind but were unable to score.  The Eagles came out with purpose in the second half and scored goals in the 43rd and 46th minutes.  Drake Hughes got the game winner beating his man to the ball to finish a cross from Kaleb Romero.  3 mintues later Luke Moore sent a nice through ball to Romero who beat the defender then the goalie for the insurance goal.  Willard would create some opportunities but Mason Young and the Eagle defense kept the shutout.

The Eagles play on Friday in the Kickapoo Tournament against Columbia Rockbridge at 3:30pm on Kickapoo’s north field.

The JV tied Willard 1-1.  Willard again had the wind in the first half and scored their goal 20 minutes into the game off great shot just under the crossbar.  The Eagles would tie the game in the second half when Andrew Schenck broke through the defense and beat the keeper to the near post.

There will be no practice Tuesday.  We will have practice Wed 3:15-5:15pm and Thursday 3:15-4:45pm.

On another note, congratulations to Kaleb Romero who became the all-time scoring leader in Nixa soccer history.  More details later.
